How to Create a Fav Icon Painlessly

March 2nd, 2008

See the little icon in the URL bar of your browser? That’s a fav icon. Normally, this can be created using an image editor - but there’s a much easier way: FavIcon from Pics

You provide the pic - and the FavIcon from Pics website will do the rest. Definitely worth bookmarking if you have your own website.

P.S. I was interviewed at Hari’s Corner recently. Please check it out.

That’s an interesting website. By the way, PCWeenies doesn’t have a favicon yet?

P.S. there is a favicon, but it shows up only on the home page.

Yep. I’ll have to find a way to add the favicon to all the pages. For now, it’s fine on the main page, as I suspect that’s what people will bookmark the most.

Use the full path to the favicon including your website url.

Awesome! Thanks, hari. I’ve added it and favicons are everywhere throughout the site now. Woot!
