6 GB of RAM!

This afternoon, I upgraded my stock Mac Pro, which came with 2GB of RAM, up to 6GB. Installation was a breeze, thanks to the directions included with the memory, and Apple’s easy-to-remove memory riser cards. Having installed memory in a Dual 2GHz G5 (and other Mac form factors over the years), I can - without a doubt -say that this was by far the easiest memory install I’ve ever done.
The memory modules were purchased from OWC and arrived within a few days of placing my order. I’m anxious to see how much extra oomph my machine will have now that I’ve given it more memory.

2 x 2.8 Ghz: When did this beast come in? I thought you had that dual core 2 x 2.2 GHz G5!
This one is a behemoth! Congrats!
Also, 6 GB RAM, how does that help? Is it required for handling multiple high resolution images simultaneously? (You sure don’t game, that you told me!)
Lastly, what is the startup disk “Octavius”?

6GB makes a big difference - having played with all my heavy apps - Photoshop / Painter / Illustrator. The extra RAM allows me to work with the large files that I do without having to thrash the drive’s virtual memory after physical memory runs out. Octavius is the name of my main drive.
