Internet back-up is always the best solution.
Keeping an security box will help in case of fire, but not in cease of stealing or if it got stuck under ruble.

One thing to keep in mind is that is encrypted, or at least over an secure connection.
I make back-ups everyday using an Internet back-up whit automatic schedule, works like a charm.

Greetings from the Netherlands.

I use the JungleDish/S3 match-up as well. It is nice to schedule the backups and not have to worry about it. You should still maintain physical backups on a regular basis (which I am too lazy to do).

I like S3 / Jungle Disk - wasn't even aware of that as an option. And I also like the idea of putting backups in the Safety Deposit box (maybe have two back-up drives - and swap them out for back-ups every 2 months). Thank you both for your suggestions!

I'm personally a fan of S3 using JungleDisk. Pretty simple way to manage backups. Haven't had a problem thus far.

I also like the cost scales nicely... just pennies a month. Rather than pay a flat fee for something I barely use.

Depending on size, you can copy your full backups to DVD or CD once a week, month, or whenever you do them and then store those in a safety deposit box. Keep a couple months worth there. Just one suggestion.
