Hardware

I’ve owned and used Macintosh computers since 1996. My first Apple computer was an Apple IIGS, purchased in 1987. Given their sibling relationship, moving from the IIGS to the Mac was a breeze. (I’ve also owned and used a 486DX 33 PC running Windows 3.1 for several years, but *ahem* the less said about that, the better.)
Since moving to the Mac, I’ve owned the following hardware:
- PowerComputing PowerTower 180e
- Powerbook G3 (Wallstreet model)
- PowerMac G4 (Dual 450 MHz)
- Powerbook Pismo (400 MHz)
My latest ‘iron’ includes a 1st-gen Macbook Pro (15″, 2.16GHz, 2GB RAM) and an 8-core 2.8 GHz Mac Pro with 6GB of RAM running a 30″ Samsung display.
I also have a 1st-gen Dual 2GHz G5 PowerMac tower, loaded with 3.5GB RAM and more external drives than you can shake a stick at, which I use as a dedicated server for my home network. I use a Canon 4400F scanner to import all my original artwork into the computer. I use a Wacom 6″ x 8″ Intuos3 tablet for all my digital work.
